Self-catering apartment, sleeping 4

The Gallery Flat, Moretonhampstead

The Gallery Flat is a 2-bedroom self-catering apartment situated in the centre of Moretonhampstead, a small moorland town in the North-East sector of Dartmoor National Park. Sleeping up to 4 people, the flat offers modern comfortable accommodation on the upper two floors of a late 16th century town house, above a small art gallery at street level, and has its own separate entrance.

The flat comprises, on the first floor, a living room with a dining area, a well-stocked galley kitchen and a bathroom, and on the second floor, a double bedroom (with a standard queen-size bed), a twin bedroom (with two single beds) and a small seating area.

Please note that the flat is part of an old building, and there's barely a right-angle in the whole place. No two rooms are at the same level; there are a number of single and double steps throughout the property, and the stairs to the bedrooms are quite narrow and steep. The result is a quirky and unusual flat with great charm, but it is with regret that we have to say that it is NOT suitable for very young children or people with limited mobility.

Moretonhampstead and the surrounding area

Moretonhampstead, the 'Gateway to the Moor', is an ancient market town in the North-East sector of Dartmoor National Park. Although it's a small town – quiet at night – there's a lot going on. The town has a variety of shops and services, and in particular, there's a Co-op supermarket, four pubs – all serving food – and two cafes all within about a hundred metres of the flat. For more information about the town visit the Moretonhampstead website.
